BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La — The 2013 Defenders of Liberty Air Show scheduled for May 4-5 has been canceled.

The event was slated to happen if a budget agreement could be met, but due to sequestration, the Air Force suspended tuition assistance Monday.

"These are challenging times" said Col. Andrew Gebara, 2nd Bomb Wing commander. "We are thankful for the tremendous support we receive from the local community that helps us continue to focus on our mission, and our people."

No dates have been set for the 2014 air show.
