23 year anniversary of Juanita Jones' murder

Tuesday, November 13, 2012 - 9:32pm

The Jones family wishes that November 13 was just another date to them. But 23 years ago, while working at the Circle K that used to be on the corner of Bodcau Station and Hwy 80, 32 year old Juanita Jones was shot in what police believe was a robbery. She died 5 days later.

Bossier Sheriff's Office had high hopes for the case, promising Jones' mother Addie that a killer would be found, but 23 years later, the family is still waiting for justice.

Jones had put in her notice at the Circle K, and was about to start working full time at her restaurant, Down Home Barbecue, just down the street from her home in Haughton.

The family relives her death everyday, although they have tried to move on, but it is still painful all the time. For the holidays this year, all they want is closure, even though they know if won't bring Jones back.

The Bossier Sheriff's Office is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this cold case through their Crime Stoppers program. The shooting took place around 10:40pm, at what is now the Domino's Pizza at Bodcau Station and Highway 80. The detectives and the family are hoping that anybody with any information on this case will come forward and help bring closure to this grieving family.
