Alleged bar bandits linked to other local robberies

Two Shreveport men have been accused of robbing a local bar earlier this month, along with a handful of other heists.

On November 9,  James Tyson, 21, and Myles Smith, 19, allegedly held up the Break N Run Bar, located in the 9400 block of Mansfield Road, at gunpoint. Warrants for the duo charging them with armed robbery were obtained on Thursday.

Victims in the incident told police they were mugged by two masked men, armed with guns inside the business. Customers were held at gunpoint by one thief while the other robber collected an undisclosed amount of money. They then ran from the scene in an unknown direction.

During the course of the investigation, three men believed to responsible for upward of a dozen armed robberies were caught. Authorities were able to gather evidence linking Smith and Tyson to those offenses as well. Their bond amounts are set at $250,000 each.
