Amber Alert discontinued after missing TX girl shows up at aunt's house
Brazoria, Texas (KMSS) — An Amber Alert that was issued for a 13-year-old who was allegedly abducted in Brazoria, Texas, has been canceled after she showed up at her aunt's house around 2:30 a.m., Wednesday morning.
Police were searching for Elizabeth Catherine Smith who was last seen Monday morning at 8:40 a.m. Her alleged kidnapper was identified as Jose Angel Ponce, 38.
The vehicle Ponce was reported to be driving is a black, 2010 Chevrolet C-1500 truck with the license plate number AT22261.
Details concerning her disappearance were not immediately available. According to KHOU, investigators believe Smith and Ponce met over social media and began exchanging text messages.
