Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — A local man is now being sought by police following a warrant being issued for his arrest in connection to a shooting that injured a Shreveport man Wednesday morning.
On January 1, 2014, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Shreveport Police officers responded to the 2600 block of Lillian Street relative to a shooting. Upon officer’s arrival at the scene, police located 40 year old Orlando Debrow of Shreveport who was suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Debrow was ultimately transported to University Health Medical Center for treatment of his injuries that were considered non life-threatening. Shreveport Police investigators arrived on scene at the shooting and following interviews with witnesses and the victim, were presented with information regarding the incident. It is believed the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Debrow and his accused shooter.
Since the shooting, authorities assigned to the case have been able to uncover additional information linking 36-year-old Shauncey Bates of Shreveport to the shooting. Based on that information, investigators procured a warrant for the arrest of Bates charging him with a single count of Attempted Second Degree Murder. Bates' bond is set at 350,000.00 dollars.
