ATV crash in Bossier Parish causes serious injury

Around 11 a.m. this morning,  Troopers responded to a two vehicle crash on Wallace Road south of Louisiana Highway 537.

Upon investigation, an ATV driven by Marlon Oliver, 31, of Plain Dealing, was traveling south on Wallace Road when he entered a curve and crossed into the northbound lane into the path of a truck driven by Brent Roberson, 29, of Waldo, Arkansas.

The ATV struck the right corner of the truck. Oliver was ejected and was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

There was a passenger on the ATV with Oliver, Ronnie Lefear, 18, of Plain Dealing, he was ejected off the ATV and was air lifted to a hospital in Shreveport.

Both Oliver and Lefear were both not wearing helmets. The driver of the truck, Roberson was wearing his seatbelt and did not have any injuries.

At this time alcohol use is not suspected, toxicology samples were taken and will be submitted for analysis. Oliver was cited with driving left of center and an ATV on a roadway.

The crash is still under investigation.
