Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Shreveport Police are looking for information relative to a shooting that claimed the life of a Shreveport man Thursday evening.
At around 6:00 p.m. on May 16, 2013, Shreveport Police were called to a shooting that took place in the 300 block of West 77th Street. On arrival, Burford Johnson, 20, of Shreveport, was found lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Johnson was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police were told that Johnson was shot while walking in the 300 block of West 77th Street when a white truck was seen leaving the area.
It has not yet been determined if that vehicle was involved in the shooting.
Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives immediately responded to the scene of the shooting and launched an investigation.
Authorities are working to identify the person or persons involved in this crime.
