Authorities remind public of safety concern at downtown park

The Shreveport Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind citizens that wading or swimming is not allowed in the waterfalls at River View Park.

Over the past few weeks, officials with SPAR have made the police department aware of complaints regarding people wading in the waterfalls behind the Sprayground located at River View Park there in the 600 block of Clyde Fant Parkway. Shreveport city ordinances governing the use of parks clearly prohibit wading or swimming in any park waters except at such time and places as are designated for such purposes.

It is important to remember this ordinance is in place to protect the public and, in the interest of public safety, officers will be enforcing the law. Please help us keep your kids safe as they enjoy the Sprayground and don’t let them swim or wade in the fountains.
