Authorities searching for weekend gas station robber
Shreveport, LA — The Shreveport Police Department is asking for the public's help in solving a weekend robbery.
On Saturday, at around 7:00 p.m., an armed man held up the Shell Food Mart on the 9400 block of Mansfield Road.
The clerk told authorities the thief was armed with a semi automatic handgun and demanded he hand over money from the register.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber ran eastbound from the business. Although there was no vehicle description provided, authorities feel that it is likely the suspect had a get away car nearby.
The gunman is described as a black man armed with a semi automatic handgun, wearing an oversized dark hooded sweatshirt, baggy jeans, black shoes and a baseball cap.
Authorities are in the early stages of the investigation and are currently waiting to determine if surveillance footage from the business will aid in identifying and apprehending the person responsible for this crime. Anyone with any information about this crime is urged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373 or Shreveport Police Robbery Detectives at (318) 673-6955.
