Bossier City home heavily damaged in fire

Monday, January 7, 2013 - 12:14pm

Bossier City fire crews were able to extinguish a fire quickly over the weekend, but not before the house sustained major damage.

At 9:40 a.m., on Sunday, dispatchers received a call for help in the 5400 block of Hackney Circle on reports of a structure fire. When fire officials arrived at the scene, they found heavy smoke coming from the home. Firefighters put out the fire within 10 minutes of getting the call.

No one was at the residence at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Authorities believe the blaze originated in the house's laundry room and spread into the attic. The cause remains under investigation.
