Caddo Parish, La (KMSS) — Caddo Parish deputies arrested a Shreveport man following a car chase a Thursday morning.
According to Sheriff Steve Prator, Terence Tyron Carthren, 40, had dodged capture for three months after failing to show up for a court date on 11 counts of theft.
At around 5:30 a.m., Carthren's vehicle was spotted near a home of deputy. When the sergeant pulled up to the driver's side of his vehicle, Carthren sped away.
The deputy began chasing the fugitive for four miles from Tulsa Street to Youree Drive. During the pursuit, Carthren committed several violations, including running stop signs and driving in the opposite lane.
The wanted man was taken into custody after he finally stopped his vehicle in a parking lot off Youree Drive.
Carthren was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on a warrant for 11 counts of felony theft and a fugitive warrant from Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was also charged with aggravated flight from an officer.
