Caddo Sheriff's Office holds first gun class for kids

Giving a kid a gun for Christmas could be thought of as a recipe for disaster, but it doesn't have to be. In fact, guns are very popular holiday presents for kids.

Knowing that, the Caddo Sheriff's Office decided to hold a first gun course specifically for children.

The course teaches gun skills, but focuses on gun safety. Kids start out with classroom training, but soon get to head out to their favorite part, the gun range.

A lot of the kids at the class didn't have a lot of experience with guns, which is exactly why their families decided the course would be perfect for them.

There's no way to make guns completely safe, so education has to be key in making them as safe as possible.

An additional First Gun for Kids class will be help on January 5, also put on by the Caddo Sheriff's Office.
