Investigators from the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Alexandria Field Office arrested Jim Jones, 61, of Campti, LA, on Thursday, June 13, 2013, for theft of copper (over $1,000).

In April 2013, Louisiana State Police received a criminal complaint from the Lowes Home Improvement store in Alexandria. The complaint alleged that a white male subject had entered the store and stolen several rolls of electrical copper wire. Lowes loss prevention had identified the same white male stealing rolls of copper wire at other Lowes stores in Pineville, Shreveport, and Bossier City. LSP Investigators were able to identify the white male as Jim Jones. The investigation also revealed that Jones had stolen copper wire from Stine Lumber Company in Natchitoches.

Jones was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.

**LSP Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance. They have reason to believe that these are not the only incidences Jones was involved in and that there may be other victims of these types of crimes involving Jones. It is also believed that Jones had an accomplice(s). If anybody has information related to Jones, please contact Senior Trooper Scott Coco at 318-487-5730.
