The Bossier Sheriff’s Office arrested three workers at a Haughton child care Wednesday on charges stemming from simple battery to cruelty to a juvenile of young children at the daycare center over the past couple of weeks.
Sheriff’s detectives responded to a complaint of abuse of children at the TLC Child Care &Learning Center in Haughton on Highway 80. During the investigation, they discovered that three workers at the daycare center slapped children in the face, swatted them on the leg or head and pulled the ears of eight children aged 1 to 4 years old.

Arrested were:

  • • Tronica N. Peterson, 23, of the 300 block of Davis St. in Haughton - Charged with two counts of simple battery and cruelty to a juvenile

  •  Antionikia L. Moncrief, 25, of the 100 block of Talton Gardens in Minden - Charged with two counts of simple battery and cruelty to a juvenile

  • Fanisty J. Kennon, 31, of the 100 block of Village Manor in Haughton - Charged with six counts of simple battery

All three admitted to detectives the acts of cruelty and battery. The charges of cruelty to a juvenile were because Peterson slapped a 2-year-old harshly on the back of the head, and in another incident, Moncrief chased a 2-year-old across the playground and slapped the child in the face. Both incidents were caught on camera.

Kennon admitted to detectives that on two separate occasions she pulled the ears of two small children and thumped the ear of a 4-year-old.

None of the children required medical attention, and detectives have notified all parents of the children involved.
All three arrested were transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility. Bonds are $6,000 each for Peterson and Moncrief and $3,000 for Kennon.
