It's not everyday that the city of Shreveport is compared to the Bush Doctrine, but that's exactly how attorney Joel Pearce sees it.
Pearce is representing the victim raped by Rick Seaton, a government employee, in the mayor's office in 2010.
On Wednesday, Pearce filed a lawsuit against both Seaton and the city claiming that is client's civil liberties were violated, and the city didn't do enough to protect her.
In another comparison, Pearce sees this case just like the Sandusky scandal at Penn State. In that case, Joe Paterno kept allegedly kept quiet and was punished for it. In this case, Pearce claims that Mayor Glover and Seaton met in secret in Longview, Texas to go over the rape trial.
Fox 33 contacted the city, who said that they don't offer any comments on pending litigation.
