Cohab asks for community's help meeting 'Kickstarter' goal to open kitchen incubator
Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — The race is on for local coworking non-profit Cohab to raise roughly $8,500 more or lose all of the money raised so far through online crowdfunding site Kickstarter.com. The fundraising campaign ends Tuesday August 20th 11:59 p.m. central time and all funding must be pledged by that time.
“The generosity of the amazing Shreveport-Bossier community has allowed us to raise almost $12,000 so far, but we’re not at the finish line yet,” said Cohab Executive Director John Grindley. “We’d ask anyone who has considered pledging any amount from $5 to $5,000 to go ahead and give right away. We think that will really help us build moment and meet our goal as our campaign finishes up.”
Cohab is offering an assortment of prizes from Facebook mentions to private dinner parties for anyone willing to donate, and all contributors will be invited to Cohab’s grand opening in September.
“We really want to meet and thank the people who are making this dream a reality for Shreveport-Bossier,” said Grindley. “It’s going to be a great night, and everyone there will know that they played a part, big or small, in making it happen.”
Anyone able to donate to the campaign can do so online by visiting Cohab’s Kickstarter at cohab.org/donate.
“Margaret Mead said ‘Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has,’” said Grindley. “We know that with the amazing community around us we can raise enough to make this happen.”
