Crook who borrowed car for bank robbery sentenced to 160 months in prison

A Texas man who borrowed a car to rob a bank was sentenced to 160 months in a federal prison, U.S. Attorney John M. Bales reports.

Robin Marion Allen, 52, of Hawkins, pleaded guilty to bank robbery on Sept. 11, 2012 for the incident that occurred on June 25.

According to reports, Allen, a former Louisiana resident, borrowed a car and drove to the Wells Fargo Bank on East Main Street in Atlanta, TX. He handed the teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied and placed just under 2,000 in a black bag.

Allen was arrested in Atlanta, TX a couple days after the crime was committed.

On Tuesday, he was sentenced to 160 months in a federal prison.
