A local woman accused of shooting her boyfriend earlier this month during what was described as a domestic dispute turned violent is behind bars.

Police detectives received a tip this morning regarding the whereabouts of 28 year old Abeni Craig and, based on that information, were able to locate her and take her into custody without incident. Craig, of the 1700 block of Alma Street in Shreveport, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on an outstanding arrest warrant charging her with one count of attempted second degree murder and one count of convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Investigators believe Craig shot 21 year old Kelvin Wright in the arm back on July 13, 2012, outside of the home they shared in the 1700 block of Alma Street. Wright was subsequently transported to a local hospital by the Shreveport Fire Department with a non life-threatening injury.
