Shreveport, La (KMSS) — A Shreveport man was booked into the Shreveport jail after DNA linked him to a crime.
Back on October 15, officers were dispatched to a reported burglary at an apartment home on the 7200 block of Bernstein Avenue. Investigating officers met with the victim, who had came to a burglar inside his place.
According to the victim, the resident tangled with burglar, in which time blood evidence from the suspect was left at the scene of the crime. The blood was then turned over to the North Louisiana Crime lab for analysis.
The suspect, who ran from the area before authorities arrived, was not immediately found.
Detectives later learned the DNA matched a Joshua Plater, 20, of Shreveport, who was already in the jail for unrelated charges.
Plater was additionally charged with one count of aggravated burglary.
