DOTD starts new project
Bossier Parish, La (KMSS) — The Louisiana Department of Transportation is starting a new safety project today on I-20 by the Red Chute Bayou in Bossier Parish.
Officials were out today clearing tree debris and highway rubbish. The project is expected to stretch 56- miles along the interstate and will cost the department over $650,000 to complete.
Spokesperson Susan Stafford says the project will help save lives and provide more safety for drivers.
"This safety project is really about allowing those drivers that might run off the road, give them more distance to recover. It also keeps any lems from falling off onto I-20 when we do have inclement weather."
The project is expected to take three months to complete.
