Doyline still not quite back to normal

Friday, December 7, 2012 - 8:10pm

When law enforcement announced that evacuations would be lifted and road would be opened on Friday at noon, many residents of Doyline took it with a grain of salt, because they had heard it before.

But the roads opened on schedule, at noon on Friday. But  for local business owners who have had to suffer with the road closures since early Saturday, the reopening won't put everything back to normal.

Powell's Grocery has been in Doyline for 43 years, and it was a strain financially for the owner to be closed all week long.

He estimates he lost about $3,000 a day, and that's why he is taking part in a lawsuit filed on Monday against Explo Systems, Inc.

And while there will still be a long road ahead, when the time comes Explo will not only have to answer to law enforcement, but also to frustrated citizens.
