Bossier City Fire Department responded to a fire early this morning.

It happened in the 2500 block of Broadway Drive at 8:50 a.m.

The first fire crews to arrive on the scene found flames and heavy smoke coming from the bedroom in the back of a duplex.

The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes and they kept the fire contained to the bedroom, a small bathroom, and a portion of the attic above. The fire heavy damaged that portion of the duplex.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the other half of the duplex.

Fortunately there were no injuries. The man that lives in the duplex was not home at the time and came home to find the fire crews battling the flames.

The cause of the fire still remains under investigation.
