Family mourns loss of man killed in drive-by shooting
Bossier City, La (KMSS) — Family members have only good memories of 20 year old Devonta Demarcus English. English was killed Sunday night, in what Bossier Police believe to be a drive by shooting at the corner of Wilder and Burchett in Bossier City.
21 year old Jermarcus Morris was also hurt in the shooting, but family members are expecting him to be ok. English, called Scoota by family members, was not as lucky.
While loved ones believe English was in the wrong place at the wrong time, police investigations have led them to believe this was the result of an earlier altercation between two groups of people.
While the family is coping with this loss, they are also keeping happy thoughts for another family member who was injured in an earlier shooting, also on Sunday evening in Bossier City. Police do not believe the two shootings are related.
Bossier City Police are asking for the public's help in locating a possible suspect. Based on witness statements, they are looking for a black man driving a grey Chevy Impala. Anybody with information about this shooting is asked to call Bossier City Crime Stoppers at 424.4100.
