Fire destroys empty Shreveport home

Wednesday, December 19, 2012 - 8:16pm

Tuesday evening, the Shreveport Fire Department responded to a reported house fire in the 300 block of East 68th St. By the time they arrived, the house was already completely on fire.

They were able to get the fire under control in just under 15 minutes, but by that time, the house was already destroyed.

There wasn't anybody living in the home, and all of the utilities going to the house had been disconnected, and t he cause is still under investigation.

Neighbors tell us, the homeowners had moved out and were planning on remodeling the home. While the family was out of the home, people in the area had used this house as a "hangout" for smoking and drinking.
