Part of a Bossier City motel room caught on fire Tuesday. Authorities were dispatched to the Siesta Motel, located in the 2500 block of East Texas Street, on reports of a fire at around noon.

Witnesses told fire officials they saw thick black smoke coming from the motel. When crews arrived on scene, heavy flames and smoke was pouring from a room. Firefighters were able to extinguish all the flames in about 10 minutes and kept it from spreading to other rooms.
