Shreveport LA (KMSS) — Firework vendors say sales were up this year as people celebrated the New Year.
Workers at TNT Fireworks in Shreveport say that 85-percent of their inventory was sold out leading up to today.
They credit the surge to more families wanting to stay at home to bring in the special holiday.
"We had people standing three and four deep to get checked out at the cash register and sales were really good for the last six hours of 2013," said Chuck McCoy.
Across the country more than a million families celebrated New Years with fireworks.
