Valentine's Day 2013
SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — One local Shreveport florist says this year has been the busiest Valentines Day ever since she has been in business.
Millions of flowers will be given as gifts tomorrow across the country and behind every great gift is hard work.
"It takes us one whole day just to process flowers, get them in the cooler and we have flowers cut every single day. So we make them up, get them in the cooler and get them delivered," Said Lori Burks who owns Summerlin Florist in Shreveport.
More than 10,000 roses were ordered to help workers fill over 400 orders and even with a 48 hour shift ahead and record setting numbers this year, Burks says she is still taking orders, even for procrastinators.
“That’s ok, we are use to it and we are prepared for them, we are prepared for them so we order extra every year." Said Burks.
