It's that time of year again, when pumpkin pie and Christmas trees are just around the corner. But for the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, that also means making sure that local pantries are full, so that the needy can have a special time as well.
They've already started their food drives, which they say are great for helping children understand helping out. The food bank wants to remind donors, that while all food is appreciated, they have a real need for proteins: like quinoa, peanut butter and tuna.
For people that can, they ask for monetary donations. Because of special pricing they get from their parent company, Feeding America, the food bank is able to turn one dollar into meals for 8 people!
They provide food to over 120 different organizations that reach out to the public, many of which, wouldn't be able to exist without help from the food bank.
