Louisiana — New Year's Eve is over, and Louisiana State Police are very happy with how the night turned out.

Locally, there were only two DWI arrests. One was in the early evening on the 3132 at Walker Road, where a driver drove into the median and got stuck. The second happened later in the evening, on the 49 in DeSoto Parish. Both drivers were charged with driving while intoxicated and improper lane usage.

Statewide, during the critical hours of New Year's Eve, and the early hours of New Year's Day, there were no fatal accidents.
