High school students attend energy camp
Natchitoches, LA (KMSS) — HIgh school students from Natchitoches, DeSoto, and Red River Parishes are now learning about energy and other rleated careers during Energy Camp Louisiana.
This is a program that encourages interest in science, math and technology while building teamwork and communication skills.
Participants are taking part in games, experiments, workshops and field trips designed to inform them about energy, energy conservation and efficiency.
Students have heard presentations by visiting engineers from Shell and Center Point Energy who have discussed their backgrounds and career paths and offered suggestions on achieving career goals.
Students have also toured International Paper and are now scheduled to travel to the Shell Field office on Wednesday. Thursday, Northwestern State alumani Jason Dugas, an electrical engineer at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, will speak at 10:30 a.m.
The camp will end on Friday.
