Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — A man littering while driving west on the 20 caught the eye of a Louisiana State Police Officer early Thursday morning, who tried to pull the littering man over.
Instead of pulling to the side of the freeway, the driver sped away, pulling onto the 49 southbound. The officer continued following the man, who reached speeds well above the speed limit. Louisiana State Police called Shreveport Police to coordinate efforts to catch the driver before anybody was injured.
The driver got off the freeway at Bert Kouns, where Shreveport Police were waiting with a spike strip. After blowing out two of his tires, the driver continued driving, until he reach Cinnamon Road, where he jumped out of the car and began running.
Police were able to catch the suspect quickly once that happened.
The suspect was arrested and charged with numerous offenses, including driving while intoxicated, which authorities was like the reason the chase happened.
