Shreveport, La — New Year's Eve isn't generally thought of as a kid friendly holiday, but Sci-Port's event today changed that. They decided to hold a New Year's Eve celebration at noon instead of midnight, so kids of all ages could attend.
The main focus of the event was traditions and cultures. Kids were introduced to how other cultures celebrate this holiday in a fun and hand-on way.
When noon came, over 2,000 balloons were dropped to the ceiling and a mirror ball counted down to 12pm. And just like the grown up version, madness ensued after the ball drop at this event too. Kids were screaming with excitement and grabbing every balloon they could get their hands on.
