Lack of donations in 2012 means cuts for 2013
Shreveport, La — With fiscal years done for many Ark-La-Tex charities, the news is in, and it isn't all good.
Many charitable organizations, including Providence House and the Salvation Army are down about 25% in their budgets for the new year.
With both government cuts and a decrease in donations, this means that both organizations will be able to help fewer people this year.
And although both know that the economy is tough right now, they are begging for people to donate whatever they can so that they can help more people.
But regardless of budget cuts, the organizations are trying to stay positive, vowing to do more with less.
