We insure lots of things: our cars, our health, even our lives. However, when it comes time to insuring our possessions, more than half of renters in the United States fall short. That's according to a recent survey by Allstate, which shows only 44 percent of people who rent their homes carry insurance to protect their possessions.
In many cases, the landowner will carry insurance to protect the building from damage in case of a disaster. However, that coverage does not extend to their tenants' belongings. To find out more about the pros and cons of renter's insurance, check out the video above.
