Louisiana State Police use State Fair to reach public
Some people are taking advantage of the fair for more than fun, food and games.
The Louisiana State Police Department is spreading awareness about their message to keep people safe.
Guests to their booth are leaving with their hands and minds full, picking up goodies and all sorts of treats with their newfound safety knowledge.
And while this might sound like an easy day for police, it's actually a great way for them to reach the public.
According to Matt Harris of the Louisiana State Police, "we can reach thousands of people by way of the state fair of all ages, from 2 or 3 years old all the way through senior citizens and you'd be surprised at the questions that people have and you're able to answer just by simple conversation when they pass by our booth."
Maybe some junior troopers will even grow up to be just like the ones they saw at the fair.
