LSU student arrested after allegedly firing gun several times at mother
Baton Rouge, La — A 19-year-old LSU student was arrested yesterday for Attempted First-Degree Murder after she allegedly fired a gun several times at her mother.
The LSU Police Department reports that they were contacted by the New Orleans Police Department on Monday, Oct. 8 to assist with the arrest of Nicole Lea Boover. Officials say the incident happened at around 6:30 a.m. at the residence of Boover’s parents in New Orleans. We’re told Boover fired several shots at her mother, and then fled in her car.
Shortly after obtaining the arrest warrant from the New Olreans Police Department, LSU Police were able to locate Boover’s vehicle on South Campus Drive. We’re told she had a male passenger with her in the vehicle. Boover, however, was not in the vehicle when they arrived. She was located a short time later at her on-campus residence.
Boover’s car was searched and marijuana was found in the vehicle.
Boover was arrested for Attempted First-Degree Murder and Simple Possession of Marijuana. She was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
The investigation is ongoing.
