Today the Christus Health System Shreveport-Bossier announced a new strategic direction which will change how it delivers health care to the entire Shreveport-Bossier area.

It includes an expansion of services and facilities to Christus Highland Medical Center, the addition of outpatient services at multiple sites in the community and a multi-year plan to repurpose the Christus Schumpert Medical Center campus.

The Plan is expected to cost the system around 55-millon dollars and on the downside would eliminate over 200 jobs with the closing of the Sutton Children's Medical Center.

The medical system is also planning to build a new cancer center on the highland campus in the upcoming year.
