Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — A Shreve port man is facing serious criminal charges after a 911 call was made by his child's mother early this morning.
It happened at 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning, a woman called 911 reporting that the father of her child was beating on the patio door of her home in the 9000 block of Mansfield Road.
While the woman was still on the phone with authorities, the man forced his way into her home and the phone call was disconnected.
On arrival moments later, police found the glass door was shattered and the home was in disarray.
The vicim and her child were no where to be found.
Officers began gathering information regarding both the suspect and the victim and detectives with the department's Violent Crimes Unit, Youth Bureau, and Domestic Violence Unit were called to the scene. They then began an search for the woman, her child, and the suspect.
After a short time, Coporal Carolyn Harris found the missing woman and her child as well as the suspect in the 6300 block of Buncombe Road.
The mother and her child were unharmed.
The suspect, Robert L. Stewart Jr., 23, was taken into custody.
Stewart has been charged with one count of aggravated burglary and one count of simple kidnapping. He was then booked into Shreveport City Jail.
