Bossier City, La (KMSS) — After starting with the dream of a man relaxing on a beach with a margarita, comes Shreveport-Bossier's latest casino, Margaritaville Resort Casino in Bossier City.
While Margaritaville will have luxury accommodations and entertainment, attracting people from all over, keeping local is still very important to the resort. During the building process, local contractors and tradespeople were utilized, and with hiring starting to begin, the resort is once again reaching out to locals.
Margaritaville expects to hire about 1,200 people to fill various resort and casino positions. Some positions are already being posted on their website, and new positions are added daily.
Even people not looking to become a part of the Margaritaville team can see how important local heritage is to the resort. Architects and contractors managed to add quite a few local touches, including in Jimmy Buffett's signature hotel volcano. Not quite noticeable at first, observant visitor will see a catfish hanging out among pine trees carved into the volcano. Theming superintendent Kevin Gerlech added the local touches to represent the log jam that Captain Shreve opened up, making the region to what it is today.
And as great as the area is right now, Margaritaville staff thinks that come their June opening, the area will be even better.
