Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Shreveport Police are investigating the cause of a two-car accident that claimed the life of a Benton woman Friday afternoon.
It happened just before 4:00 p.m. at Terry Bradshaw Passway just east of Linwood Avenue entry and exit ramps, Shreveport Police were called to a two-car wreck.
On arrival, authorities found that a silver car rolled over and struck another car, whose driver was ejected from the vehicle.
Shreveport Fire Department personnel confirmed the ejected driver was dead at the scene.
Shreveport Police Crash Investigators were called to the scene of the accident and immediately launched an investigation.
It was found through roadway evident, the silver car, drive by Chelsea Ferris, 28, of Shreveport, was driving east bound in the inside lane of Terry Bradshaw Passway when, for reasons unknown, her vehicle left the left side of the toad and crossed into oncoming west bound traffic where it rolled, hitting the other car driven by Joceyln D. Wright, 37, of Benton, Louisiana.
Wright suffered serious injuries during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ferris was treated by Shreveport Fire Department for minor injuries, she was then taken to a local hospital where blood samples were taken for toxicological testing.
She was later taken to the Shreveport Police Department's Traffic Division where she was interviewed by investigators.
The cause of the incident is currently under investigation at this time.
Charges in the case are pending the outcome of toxicology results.
