Police invesitgate a fatal stabbing, one suspect arrested
Bossier City, LA (KMSS) — Bossier City Police are investigating a stabbing that took place at a local motel that left one man dead and another one jailed on a murder charge.
It happened just before 10 p.m. Friday night at the Siesta Motel in the 2500 block of East Texas Street. The stabbing stemmed from an altercation between the two men who lived there.
Detectives say that Frank Bratton, 54, and Ryan Hughes Hammett, 34, had gotten into an argument in the motel parking lot that turned physical. During the incident Bratton reportedly went to his room, retrieved a knife, and then went to Hammett's room and stabbed him multiple times in the upper body.
Bossier City Fire Department personnell took Hammett to a local hospital where he later died from his wounds. Soon after arriving on the scene police found Bratton in his room and took him into custody.
Bratton was arrested on the charge of second degree murder and was booked into the Bossier City Jail.
Bond has not yet been set.
