Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Graduations are all about closing the door on one section of life to welcome the next; which is exactly what the Spring 2013 Providence House graduates did.
For Providence House Program Director Rhonda Watts, graduation is what it's all about. After teaching the graduates the tools to live independently permanently, this is when the staff gets to have their proud parent moment.
Cynthia Adams is one of the spring graduates. She was laid off from her job of 13 years after an injured knee kept her from working. She and her, now 5 year old, daughter moved from shelter to shelter for a while, finally finding their perfect match in Providence House.
After a little over a year, Adams graduated, ready to move on to the next stage of her life. The morning of graduation, Adams received her counselor in training certificate. In her new career, she has come full circle; going from the counseled to the counselor.
