Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — A Shreveport man is behind bars this afternoon after a robbing an individual near Shreveport's Downtown area.
Around 1:00 p.m. this afternoon, Shreveport Police were patrolling the city's downtown area when they were told that a man had just committed robbery of an individual near the 400 block of Crockett Street.
The suspect, later identified as Andre Okray, 22, was found by officers fleeing the area on foot.
A foot chase ensued at which Okray was captured and taken into custody.
During an investigation, it was learned that Okray had approached the victim and asked them for money. The victim offered Okray a small sum of money and was robbed by Okray during the act.
Officers were able to return the money to the victim. Okray was then booked into Shreveport City Jail where he now faces charges of simple robbery.
