Shrevepore police investigate early morning shooting
Shreveport, LA — Two men are injured following an early morning shooting in Shreveport's Queensborough neighborhood.
On November 23, 2012 at approximately 2:18 a.m., Shreveport Police officers responded to a "shots fired" call near the intersection of Greenwood Road at Jewella Avenue. It was upon the arrival of officers that two men, identified as 19 year old Timothy Kelly and 18 year old Corseydon Evans, both Shreveport residents, were contacted while driving a blue vehicle containing what appeared to be multiple bullet holes to it's exterior. During officers contact with the men, it was discovered that both had sustained what was described as potentially non life threatening gunshot wounds to the hand and shoulder. Neither man was forthcoming with authorities about the events that led up to their being shot and could not provide a description of a possible suspect. As a result of their injuries, the men were both transported to LSUHSC.
Investigators with the Shreveport Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit were contacted and responded to the scene. It was during this time that a small caliber hand gun possibly related to the crime was recovered on the ground near the victims vehicle. In speaking with persons on scene, investigators now believe that the shooting may have stemmed from some sort of dispute involving the victims and another group of men. Details in this case are still emerging as authorities work to piece together the facts surrounding the shooting. Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call Caddo-Shreveport Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373 or Shreveport Police Detectives at (318) 673-6955.
