Shreveport bandit targets fast food restaurant

Officials are looking for a Shreveport robber after he targeted a fast food restaurant Friday evening.

At 9:40 p.m., officer were dispatched to Popeye's, located in the 500 block of East 70th Street, on reports of an armed robbery.
When law enforcement arrived at the business, witnesses told them a man armed with a semi-automatic handgun entered the store with an orange bandana around his face.

The bandit demanded cash from the safe, received an undisclosed amount of money, then ran from the fast-food chain in an unknown direction.

The gunman is described as a black male, standing about 6' - 6' 2", weighing around 200 - 210 pounds, wearing an orange hooded jacket and gloves.

Detectives were able to recover surveillance footage of the robbery and are hopeful it will help identify the man responsible for this robbery. Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact Caddo-Shreveport Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373.
