Shreveport man accused of defrauding elderly in area

A Shreveport man is in police custody for allegedly defrauding elderly citizens in the area.

Authorities arrested Donnie Russell, 37, of Shreveport, after he made unsolicited visits to several people's homes offering to make home repairs. During these stops, Russell is accused of taking money from unsuspecting victims without returning to do the job.

Police believe Russell may have defrauded other citizens that may have not yet come forward. He is charged with misapplication of payment by a contractor.

Detectives are urging any persons that may have been victimized by Russell to please contact Shreveport Police Detective Roger Courtney at (318) 673-7004 or Caddo-Shreveport Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373. Russell remains jailed at Caddo Correctional Center.

He worked on my neighbors home and hired my son to do work and didn't pay him for his services. I was very disappointed and he kept asking neighbor for more money and making excuses that his baby needed diaper's and he wasn't paying others that did the work either. IT's sad but his job wasn't good and she had to pay for more work to fix his work.
