Shreveport man linked to failed November shoe store robbery
Shreveport, La — Officials have named the person they believe responsible for a shoe store robbery late last month in north Shreveport.
On Thursday, detectives obtained an arrest warrant Zamario Washington, 21, of Shreveport, charging him with a attempted armed robbery.
Authorities were able to link Washington to a failed robbery that took place November 24, 2012, at the Shoe Show store, located in the 1900 block of North Market Street.
On the day of the crime, witnesses told police Washington, whose identity was unknown at the time, entered the business and told employees he was not going to buy a pair of shoes he had grabbed, all the while carrying a gun.
Before making off with the merchandise or cash, Washington ran from the street.
Law enforcement investigators were able to gather secure evidence linking Washington to the crime and procured a warrant with a bond amount of $75,000.
Anyone who has any information about the whereabouts of Zamario Washington is urged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or Shreveport Police detectives at (318) 673-6955.
