Shreveport party organizers arrested following shooting investigation

Two Shreveport men are jailed on multiple charges following an ongoing investigation into a shooting that injured a man last week.

Back on December 14, 2013, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to reports of a male shot in the 1900 block of Texas Avenue. Police later learned, 31-year-old Alvin Lattier of Shreveport suffered a grazing wound to the neck following an alleged brawl that occurred at a party held at an automotive complex being utilized as an illegal dance hall. Lattier received minor injuries and continues to recover.

A continuing investigation into the incident revealed that the party where the shooting occurred was the location where alcohol was being served and consumed, all while minors as young as 15 years old were present. Shreveport Police Vice Agents on today arrested Alvin Lattier after it was learned it was he who leased the building where the party was held. Also arrested was 32 year old Ivory Collins, who was the alleged promoter and disk jockey for the event. Both men have been charged with Letting a Disorderly Place and Dance Hall Permit Required. The men were subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail. The investigation into the shooting remains underway as authorities are still seeking the identity and whereabouts of the shoot
