Shreveport PD probe fatal shooting

Shreveport Police are investigating a early morning shooting that claimed the life of a Bossier City man.

Just before 4:00 a.m., on Wednesday, officers were called to the 2500 block of Hollywood Avenue relative to an accident involving a maroon SUV versus a utility pole.

Upon officers arrival, they soon learned the motorist, an adult male whose identity has not been released, was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. It is believed the man was shot prior to the vehicle's collision with the utility pole. The man, who was taken to a local hospital, was pronounced dead a short time later.

Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Detectives along with Crime Scene investigators arrived on scene at the incident launching their inquiries into the matter. At this stage of the investigation, authorities are working to identity and apprehend the person or persons responsible for the shooting and determine what events transpired prior to the crash.
