Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Authorities obtained an arrest warrant for a local man after a fatal shooting in Shreveport's Lakeside neighborhood Saturday evening.
Just before 10:00 p.m. Saturday night, Shreveport Police were called to a shooting in the 2900 block of Poland Street.
On arrival, officers made contact with members of Shreveport Fire Department who confirmed that Jacoby Taylor, 25, was found dead on the scene from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Violent Crimes detectives along with Crime Scene investigators were immediately summoned to the scene and began to investigate.
Authorities have learned that moments prior to the shooting, a male suspect was observed firing a number of shots from a moving vehicle into a crowd of people standing on Poland Street.
It was during this time, Taylor was believed to have struck and killed.
The suspect shooter, Rico Allen, 22, of Shreveport, reportedly fled from the vehicle and left on foot to a nearby wooded area.
Police searched the area but were unable to find Allen.
Officials believe that Allen is currently homeless and is known to frequent the Lakeside neighborhood.
Allen faces charges of second degree murder.
